Update from Superintendent Yazvac- March 23, 2020

Good Morning Families,

I wanted to touch base with you in regards to a few pieces of information.

Today, March 23, is the official start of blended learning for students.

Blended learning looks different building to building.

At SLES students are utilizing paper/pencil packets, as are some teachers in the Intermediate School, while other teachers at SLIS are using google classrooms.  At SLHS blended learning is online. Once again, if families need a device for a student to complete online work, please email your building principal so arrangements can be made.  Students, please check your school email regularly.

In regards to paper/pencil packet pickup, parents/guardians can still pick up these materials on the previously scheduled days. Please know that during pickup, the administration will be monitoring foot traffic in order to stay in compliance with Governor DeWine’s orders.

If you are not comfortable coming into a building to pick up a packet,  please contact your building principal, and alternative arrangements will be made.

Paper/Pencil Packet Pickup

SLES-  Wednesday, March 25 from 8:00-1:00 p.m. The packets will be on each child's desk. Please return the previous  packet, if your child has completed it, when you pick up the new packet. If this time does not fit into your schedule, please email Mr. Albanese aalbanese@springfieldlocal.us and another time can be arranged. In regards to any questions about assignments, please email your child’s teacher directly.

SLIS- Tuesday, March 24 from 9:00-12:00 p.m. The packets will be on a table in front of the respective classroom for pick up.  Please return the previous packet, if your child has completed it, when you pick up the new packet. If this time is not convenient, please email Mr. Malone dmalone@springfieldlocal.us and he will provide another time for you. Some fifth and sixth grade teachers are still doing paper packets for all students. Many teachers are using Google Classroom, and students know if teachers are using Google Classroom. Most seventh and eighth grade classes are using Google Classroom. Please email teachers directly in regards to questions about assignments and whether assignments are on Google Classroom or packets that need to be picked up.

We understand this is a challenging time for families, as this is an unprecedented situation. Please know that our teachers are dedicated to providing your student with a high-quality education, and are available to answer any questions via email during school hours. Information is changing from the state on a daily basis, so we appreciate patience and understanding during all of this. Again, please email teachers directly with any questions about assignments. Please stay safe and have a great day!
